Position Summary

The Territory Account Manager is to maximize sales of Harper Corporation of America products in the assigned territory. Primary responsibility is covering the territories in your region of the country (ME,NH,VT,MA,RI,CT,NY,NJ,PA,DE,MD,DC ). Must live within the boundaries of assigned territory. To be able to multitask within the policies and expectations of the company when/if necessary. To work with all those involved in your day to day and to always keep a professional attitude and appearance. Take ownership in all duties and policies related to this position.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

Value Added Selling

Evaluates situations, makes sound decisions, and utilizes resources to address customer needs. Collaborates with Technical Advisers and Customer Service to resolve concerns.

Sales Approach

Commits to a results-driven approach, including product sales, customer engagement through seminars, audits, and additional services.

Account Management

Focuses on managing, serving, and growing active accounts.

Prospecting

Generates leads independently, recruits new customers, and increases sales volume.

Planning

Organizes schedules, follows procedures, manages time efficiently, completes reports, and develops territory sales plans with the regional manager.

Travel

Requires overnight travel between 50–70%.

Product Knowledge

Understands product features, benefits, and usage. Collaborates with co-suppliers.

Selling Skills

Demonstrates responsibility, adaptability, and the ability to respond to market changes.

Performance

Meets or exceeds sales quotas and company standards.

Development

Continuously improves skills through training and development opportunities.

Attitude

Works independently, communicates effectively, maintains professionalism, and contributes ideas to achieve sales goals.

Teamwork

Collaborates and communicates proactively with the Harper Technical Adviser team.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Track late-paying accounts and minimize delays
  • Maintain accurate records in the Harper system (Epicor)
  • Submit weekly calendars and expense reports
  • Keep accurate expense logs

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree or minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in flex/printing industry preferred
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to analyze technical and financial documents
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Mathematical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to interpret various types of instructions
  • Must reside within assigned territory
  • Availability to travel 50–70%, including nights and weekends
  • No more than 2 consecutive days in home office
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
