Charlotte, N.C., August 5, 2009 - Global anilox and coating roll supplier Harper Corporation of America is pleased to announce next year it will celebrate two decades of providing the Harper WalkingSeminarâ„¢. Since 1990, thousands of converters, co-suppliers, original equipment manufacturers, educators, students, members of the media and supplier partners from around the globe have participated in WalkingSeminars at Harper's Advanced Surface Technologies Centers.
A WalkingSeminar is a complimentary, educational session at one of Harper Corporation's state-of-the-art anilox and coating roll laser-engraving facilities. Participants tour the plant, and talk with production operators about their particular functions and contributions to their finished product - the anilox roll. The tour is followed by a customized technical session on anilox and flexo technology where visitors can obtain solutions to specific problems. Attendees have the opportunity to see the latest laser-engraving technology, and talk with some of the industry's most knowledgeable flexo professionals. The mission of Harper's WalkingSeminars is to help attendees develop a clearer understanding of the small details that can make a big difference in enhancing the flexo process. This, in turn, can provide opportunities to improve customers' bottom lines and expand their market share. There is no cost to participate.
"For nearly 20 years, the WalkingSeminar has been an intrinsic element of Harper Corporation's endeavors to further flexo education globally," said Margie Kluttz, President of Harper Corporation. "It provides the opportunity to more easily absorb many of the technical aspects of flexography that aren't easily learned in a classroom, lab or on the job. We're honored that thousands of people have found the program helpful and entrusted us with their time."
