XCAT™ Anilox Roll

XCAT™ Anilox Roll

XCAT™ represents an innovative patent-pending fusion of Anilox Roller technology, seamlessly blending consistent pocket structures within the design of an Anilox Roller channel flow. This harmonious integration upholds the cherished traditional 60-degree cell geometry synonymous with Anilox Rollers. This groundbreaking Anilox Roller engraving technology has been intricately developed to empower converters in preserving the nuances of current artwork characterizations, which are skillfully tailored with 60-degree Anilox Roller engravings.
With the seamless incorporation of XCAT™ and its integration into Anilox Roller technology, our esteemed customers are now able to fully embrace the extraordinary advantages of closed cell engraving within the realm of channeled application technology, specially tailored for Anilox Rollers.

XCAT Anilox
6o degree hex geometry.

Key features of the Xcat that make it superior to other anilox rolls on the market

Unlike other open channel engravings, the XCAT builds on the proven track record of the 6o degree hex geometry. It provides consistent and repeatable cell volume and line screen time after time. The unique pocket structure and channeled flow offer never before seen efficiencies and flexibility in the flexographic process. The XCAT provides the performance aspects of multiple engraving geometries all in one solution. The XCAT provides the ability to have optimum dot support for process and fine screen printing, rich solid ink densities and increased opacities in white inks. All this in one revolutionary geometric design.

Benefits that users can get from using the XCAT
The unique engraving geometry of the XCAT has addressed many of the long-standing challenges of the flexographic process. All in one engraving.

  • Measurable and precise CPI and BCM specifications unlike other channeled rollers.
  • Ideal for all flexographic artwork and designs; Process, Fine line and vignettes, bold solids, Opaque Whites and Coatings.
  • Can be used with all traditional inking systems, Water based, Solvent and UV.
  • Suited for all substrate applications, Paper, Films and Foils.
  • No plate screen conflict – Traditional 60-degree cell structure maintains current relationship with plate screen angles, no moire’. A drop in solution.
  • UV Ink Spitting – The free-flowing nature allows ink to travel through the channel eliminating the possibility of pressure being built up in a closed cell behind the blade.
  • Trail Edge Void – Virtually eliminated due to the improved performance of ink transfer to the plate.
  • Cleaning – The open channel design allows for easier clean up on and off press with virtually no closed cell plugging.
  • Solubility – The open channel design provides a constant flow of ink on the roller surface to promote solubility of the inks and improve transfer at higher press speeds.
  • Ink Foaming – With the constant ink flow of the channel the air entrapment of a closed cell is virtually eliminated resulting in the reduced possibilities of foaming.
  • Ink Transfer – Improved transfer and wet out of Opaque Whites, Fluorescent and other heavy particle inks.
  • Hybrid Plate Screenings – Proven to work with hybrid or specialty plate screening software techniques.
  • Roll Scoring – Will reduce the possibility of roll scoring allowing small particles to pass through shear point.
