Charlotte, NC, February 10, 2011 – Officials at global anilox supplier Harper Corporation of America have announced the promotion of Plant Manager Ronald “Lee” Harper Kluttz to Vice President of Manufacturing Operations.

Kluttz, grandson of company founders Ron and Katherine Harper and son of current Harper President Margie Kluttz, has worked at Harper for 20 of the company’s 40 years of existence.

In his new position, Kluttz oversees the manufacturing and production of all Harper anilox rolls at the company’s domestic facilities in Charlotte and Green Bay, WI.  Kluttz also audits the firm’s licensed affiliates — Harper Asia Pacific, Co., Ltd, Thailand and Harper Graphics GmbH, Germany – to ensure global product consistency.

Kluttz joined Harper in 1991, helping in Katherine Harper’s Cleaner Hands division. He has served in various manufacturing departments: as a blast operator, on the Harper GraphicsSolutions™ team, as plant supervisor, manager of customer service and plant manager.

As a member of Harper’s key management leadership team, Kluttz serves on the board of directors.

From its ISO 9001:2008 certified locations, Harper fabricates and restores more anilox rolls than any other manufacturer in the world. Kluttz has been involved in the company’s pioneering use of lasers in anilox roll production.

The company has introduced a variety of “green” manufacturing programs aimed at saving energy, preventing pollution and maximizing raw material use. Harper plants recapture and recycle all production-generated waste – including powder, shavings, wires and consumable parts.

As such, the organization is dedicated to ensuring that it provides the educational opportunities that its professionals need to stay current regarding the latest in industry technology and best practices.
