Charlotte, NC, November 10, 2010 –Jim Kissner, Senior National Sales Manager for global anilox supplier Harper Corporation, detected a growing optimism among visitors at the recent Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) Annual Meeting.
Held in Boca Raton, FL, the theme of the event – “Changes, Challenges & Strategies for Success” – presented focuses seminars on many issues confronted every day by the North American narrow web tag, label and packaging industry.
The four-day meeting included 90-minute seminars by committees on learning, marketing and technical subjects. Of special interest was an environmental committee presentation that centered on issues of health, safety and sustainability.
“There’s no denying that the last two years or so have challenged suppliers and converters,” Kissner said. “But talking with other attendees at the TLMI event left me with a sense the industry is looking forward, not backward; there is a confidence about better days ahead.”
Attendees heard from two nationally prominent speakers. Keynoter Dr. Roch Parayre, a fellow at the Wharton School at Penn, discussed how Blue Ocean strategies can be applied to drive innovation and add value within the narrow web converting industry. He detailed the results of research he did specifically for TLMI.
Roger Crawford, a leading authority on development of human potential and overcoming self-imposed limitations, opened the meeting’s first full day of business. Crawford has coached more than 3,000 audiences, drawing on his experiences and new ideas to promote higher levels of personal achievement and success for others.
