Flexographic Class Increases Proficiency of Industry Professionals at Harper Corporation of America

Published: 08.24.2011

Charlotte, North Carolina, August 24, 2011—The education of its employees is a central value of global anilox roll supplier Harper Corporation of America. As such, Harper Corporation encourages its employees to seek courses that will enhance their capabilities. The Flexographic Concepts course at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) has provided a great deal of training for employees at Harper Corporation.

On June 17 and 22, 2011, eight Harper Corporation professionals from North Carolina attended the CPCC class. An additional 10 employees from the Green Bay, Wisconsin location attended a similar class at Fox Valley Technical College on August 8 and 15, 2011. These classes are small, ensuring that every student is able to participate in an environment that is conducive to hands-on learning.

The Flexographic Concepts class is eight hours long and guides students through the flexographic process, from conception to printing. Students enrolled in the class are given an overview of the industry and instructed how to make and mount plates, set up a press, run two jobs, and clean the area after a project is complete. Additionally, students are able to ask the experienced instructors any questions they may have about the process.

Offered by the Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology staff, the Flexographic Concepts class has provided many Harper Corporation employees with the practical experience and hands-on training they need to improve the overall efficiency of the company.
